On the 1st of December we went into Hampton College to set up their Christmas Concert. We had help by their site team with the stage and sound whereas they needed help with lighting so we did what they wanted and said we would do which added that little bit extra to the Christmas concert.
The show included flashes, colour chases and dimmer chases. We mainly uses LED par lights manufactured by LEDJ which was supplied by the school. The school had a low budget so to help with the low budget we got so we used QLC+ with a usbDMX dongle and it worked just as well as a average Avolites, ChamSys or MA desks.
Thomas Copping (Head of music): "The lighting added so much to the event that I wouldn't even think we needed, but I'm glad we did."
Mrs Plane (Head of theatre studies): "Phantom Live, helped a lot with adding that little extra to our Christmas concert."
Hampton College in Feb 2023 preformed Matilda Jr as a school production. It was attended by over 1000 family and friends of the actors whilst also having some public figures coming in to watch as well.Â
The musical was a hit, being talked about all around the school and been mentioned to be like professional performance.
In total they're was programmed just over 100 ques for the musical running at 1 hour. We had chases programmed in, sfx including haze and strobes.
The lights were all hired in by Young Technicians Academy but coded and ran by Phantom Live which was then later one night after the opening day of the musical, "The lighting was done like a proper west end show"
All in the show week, we had Phantom Live constantly on the ball and in the musical, dealing with hazer's and creating the atmosphere the best we can make it
Here at Phantom Live, we also want to say that everyone that took part in Hampton Colleges Matilda Jr the Musical did absolutely great. The crew backstage was amazing with helping us with the haze when we weren't able to get to it, and the actors did an incredible job.
Welldone, Hampton College and exited to do next years musical with you as well
Hampton College in Feb 2024 preformed a spectacular performance of Shrek The Musical Jr. We were first brought in to help with lighting but decided to put our expertise with all av equipment to use and help with audio as well. We spent all time before performances helping put the mic packs and headsets on the cast members whilst also performing mic tests to try and get no av problems during the show. We also worked very closely with music-av who supplied all the equipment and helped with av equipment.
In total we used over 130 lighting cues for the musical being about 1 hour 10 minutes long.
All week, Phantom Live staff was on a ball and constantly kept on our feet doing what we do best
We ended up working with hazers and a low fogger with 2 Geyser.
